Internet connected toys with social interactive features are products with digital elements covered by Directive 2009/48/EC that communicate on the public Internet, directly or via other equipment, and embed technologies enabling inbound and outbound communication such as a keyboard, microphone, speaker or camera. Toys with location tracking features communicate on the public Internet and use technology capable of tracking or inferring the location of the toy or its user; toys that only sense proximity of users or other toys are not considered to have location tracking features.
