These software products enable end users to access, render and interact with web content and services hosted on servers connected to networks such as the Internet. They typically include a browser engine for interpreting and displaying markup language (e.g. HTML) content, support web protocols such as HTTP and HTTPS, execute scripts, manage user input and store temporary or persistent website data (cookies). The category covers standalone browser applications, embedded browsers intended for integration into other systems or applications, and browsers with AI agent integration.
